San Rafael Japanese Auto Repair

I just went for the first time for an oil change and got new front brakes too. Their prices are good, they're nice and they have a gorgeous doggy at the office on Thursdays! I'll be taking my Honda to them from now on.

Unfortunately, I have to remove a star. I called regarding the $29.95 oil change advertised on Yelp. I drive a 96 Volvo 850 and asked for an oil change. They said "they don't work on any European cars." I was surprised. I have changed the oil on this car myself, but I can't now that I live in a busy apartment complex. She did not offer a reason as to why even though I said it is a simple job. This was kind of frustration seeing how almost all oil changes are the same. They did offer the number to a European car specialty place. ( I don't recall the name.) When I called they also said they do not work on Volvo. I told her all you do is drain the oil, change the filter and refill it just like any car. She told me they do not have the technology to do it and they can't reset the service light. I told her I didn't care and then she quoted me a price around $90. Other than that, Easy Automotive is still a great shop....just not if you own a Volvo.

I've used Easy 2x in the past 2 months. Overall take: honest, fair, great service, helpful front desk, quick to get back to you. Cost in line with others They made a small "goof" on one repair (didn't tighten what they shoulda) which rendered the car useless. They took care of the problem immediately at no inconvenience to me (sent two people to my house to pick up the vehicle, shuttled it back after the re-repair). Will be seeing them again.

So Honest! I took my car in to Easy Automotive thinking I needed a new alternator. It turned out I only needed coolant added. These people are so great. I will use them for all my car needs. Clean, shuttle service, friendly.

Absolutely fantastic customer service and efficiency. Such a bonus that they are down the street from my office. Looking forward to a long relationship with them. Highly recommended!

If you want good service for reasonable cost, that is the place to go. And, very important, they explain things so that also a non-car expert can understand what is going on.

Reliable is such a good word for these guys. I've owned two cars (Toyota) since living in San Rafael and I continue to use Easy Auto. Prices are reasonable. I've had belt changes, new water pumps, electrical issues, and regular maintenance stuff like oil, tires, brakes, smog tests... And they always give a discount if you are a customer (they send you coupons by mail - regular mail - it's a new app) OR if you have Triple Ay they'll whack off a percentage of the labor. ~Just ask for it~

Honest, reliable, on time. I've been bringing them my 1997 Honda for the last few years and they've kept it in tip top shape without trying to up-sell me or pretend it needs some B.S. repair. Their rates are basically in line with other shops, but less than the dealer and also less than a couple nearby Japanese car specialists. Highly recommended.

I used Yelp and NPR's Cartalk web site to find these nice people and I'm glad I did. We'll be going back to E.A. next time our car needs a service. They're organized and on time, offer a shuttle service and you can pay in advance and they'll leave your car and keys for you if you have to pick up after hours. Nice level of professionalism. They don't try to up-sell parts or labor even though they could have, with a brake job we simply don't need yet. They answered my questions and I feel they charged a reasonable price for the work.

The name says it all. It is easy and convenient to deal with these guys. Fast, reliable, service. They tell you the truth, work hard to find the cheapest alternative and take the time to be sure you understand all your options - and why. Add free shuttle service, coupons to reduce the cost, a light, clean waiting room with good magazines if you do choose to wait and I'd say you've got perfection. Don't mess around - try this place!
