Although I've left the Bay Area, I'm still missing Easy Automotive. I used to travel up from SF just to use them after my sister told me how fantastic they were. And she was right! Bill was always willing to talk about a car issue over the phone before having me schlep up. When an LA Nissan dealer told me a car I was thinking about buying needed $6k worth of work (but there were 2 mechanics "willing to take it off my hands" for $4k), I called Bill. After hearing the list of repairs the dealer said I needed, Bill told me to change the oil, get a new battery and drive it up to him. He knew the model well and said the list sounded bogus. He even said if it needed that much work he'd buy it for $5k. Well needless to say almost nothing of what they said was true, and it took $800 to put it into top shape. And when Bill learned that I was driving the car cross country but my clutch was starting to go, he said not to bother until I hit my new small southern town because It'd be cheaper to replace there, and most of my driving would be highway. How nice was that! All-in-all, EA won't do work that's not necessary (especially important for a woman) , and they work hard to get things right.
